Hydro Sensors

Low-frequency seismic sensors engineered for hydroelectric turbines, generators and other slow-speed machinery.

Hydroelectric machines rotate slowly and produce vibration energy at very low frequencies that standard industrial accelerometers cannot resolve. Bently Nevada hydro sensors are designed specifically for this application, providing accurate measurement of bearing bracket and structural vibration down to fractions of a hertz.

The sensors are rugged, sealed against moisture and suited to the humid environments typical of hydro powerhouses. They pair with Bently Nevada monitors to provide protection and condition data for guide bearings, thrust bearings and stator cores.

Complete measurement chains are available including sensors, cables and mounting hardware qualified for the low-frequency, high-displacement conditions found on Kaplan, Francis and Pelton units.
